Lacrosse Wraps Up Season on Senior Day

SHAWNEE – (HTML Box Score) Oklahoma Baptist wrapped up the season on Senior Day in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game, falling to No. 2 Lindenwood, 25-1, Saturday at the OBU Lacrosse Complex.

Three seniors were honored in a special ceremony prior to the start of the game. For Allison Ingrim, Maysn Ungerer and Emily Bontekoe, it marked their final game in a Lady Bison uniform.

"These three young women have been tremendous stewards for OBU lacrosse. They've done a fantastic job of leading the team through this transitional time in the program. I'm excited to see the impact they'll have after they leave Bison Hill," said OBU Head Coach Jordan Beech.

The Lady Bison goal came from Lauren McCormack, scoring her team-high 24th goal of the season. Bontekoe picked up an assist on the play. The Lions (17-0, 9-0 RMAC) finished the season undefeated and were crowned regular season conference champions.

McCormack finished with seven draw controls won for a season total of 78, which is the most by a player in program history. Savannah Tompkins had five caused turnovers while Tompkins, Mackenzie Beaver and Courtney Barnickle each picked up three ground balls. Barnickle made nine saves in goal.

OBU finished the 2018 campaign 5-11 and 0-9 in RMAC play, setting an NCAA Division II-era record for the most wins in a season.
