Lady Bison Get Senior Day Walk-Off Win

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist got a three-run walk-off home run by Taylor Zanca to get a Senior Day split with Southeastern Oklahoma State at Lady Bison Park Friday.

OBU lost the opener 10-2 before winning the thrilling second game 5-4.

The Lady Bison had only five hits in the first game, scoring on back-to-back home runs by Cheyenne Demaree and Bry Flanagan in the fourth inning.

Bailee Saye took the loss.

OBU trailed 2-1 in the second game before Demaree singled and scored on a ground ball by Flanagan.

Demaree added an RBI double in the fifth to score Shelby Savage and tied the game at 2-2.

Southeastern took a 4-2 lead in the sixth.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Demaree singled and Flanagan walked ahead of Zanca lifting a three-run shot over the left-field wall on a 3-1 pitch.

Katie Long (7-7) went the distance for the win.

OBU had eight hits, including four by Demaree.

Four Lady Bison seniors were honored after the games. Bailee Saye is completing a four-year career, Amanda Peterson and Miranda Garza are finishing their third season and Katie Reyes her second.

The teams are scheduled to play a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, but there is a 100 percent chance of rain in the forecast.
