Lady Bison Split at ECU

ADA – Oklahoma Baptist split a pair of wild games at East Central, winning the opener 9-3 before falling 16-8 in the second game.

OBU scored three in the first inning, including a leadoff home run by Dani Manning, who became just the second Lady Bison ever to hit 14 home runs in a season. Jayme Boyer's school record is 17.

After a hit by Katie Reyes, Taylor Zanca ripped a two-run home run.

ECU tied the score in the sixth but OBU answered with a six-run seventh.

After a Kristin Grabin single, Katie Reyes homered for a 5-3 lead. The Lady Bison tacked on RBI walks by Shelby Savage and Hannah Danielson, an RBI fielder's choice by Grabin and an RBI single by Manning.

OBU had 13 hits in the win, including two each by Manning, Reyes, Bry Flanagan, Savage and Grabin.

Chandler Roberts allowed one run over 3.2 innings in relief to get the win. Katie Long pitched a scoreless seventh.

OBU scored eight runs in the fourth inning of the second game. Manning, Reyes, Demaree and Zanca had consecutive RBI singles with two scoring on Zanca's hit. Flanagan then hits three-run home run to put the Lady Bison ahead 8-0.

Two OBU pitchers gave it right back, however, with eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the fourth.

OBU had 11 hits in the game, including two each by Flanagan and Aspen Grimes.

Bailee Saye took the loss.
