Bison Back in Win Column

HAYS, Kan. – Oklahoma Baptist men's soccer closed out their trip to Hays, Kansas, with a neutral site victory, 3-1, over the University of Mary on Saturday morning at the Fort Hays State Soccer Stadium. It's the Bison's second win in four outings during their five-match road swing.

Alejandro Castillo put the Bison in the ascendency in the first half, converting from the spot to give OBU a 1-0 lead. Oklahoma Baptist would maintain that lead throughout the remainder of the opening 45 minutes of play, going into the locker room with the lead in hand.

Despite Mary getting a goal back quickly after the restart, Jesus Andrade put OBU back on top in the final quarter-hour of play after heading home the ricochet off the a Luis Romero shot that clanged off the crossbar. Romero then put his own name on the score sheet to ice the match in the dying minutes off the assist from Thiago Dos Santos.

Oklahoma Baptist (3-5-1, 1-1 GAC) resumes Great American Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 3 when they take on rival Southern Nazarene in Bethany at 7 p.m. in the squad's final road GAC contest of the season.
