Lady Bison Punch Postseason Ticket

SHAWNEE – Bry Flanagan punched Oklahoma Baptist's ticket to the postseason ticket with a pair of home runs in a split with Ouachita Baptist Friday.

OBU won the first game 3-2 and dropped the finale 8-5.

OBU had only three hits in the opener and all three scored, including Flanagan's walk-off in the seventh.

Trailing 2-0, Katie Reyes broke up a no-hitter in the fourth with a double and scored on Flanagan's third home run of the season.

Haylee Zimmerman (11-8) worked out of a no-out bases-loaded jam in the top of the seventh, getting three consecutive ground balls with two outs recorded at the plate.

OBU got its final hit and won the game when Flanagan homered to left to lead off the bottom of the seventh.

The Lady Bison fell behind 4-0 in the first inning of the second game but got two of those back in the home half with an RBI double by Madison Vaughan and an RBI single by Flanagan.

OBU added a run in the third with a RBI single by Rachel Birchfield.

The final two runs scored in the fifth on RBI singles by Miranda Garza and McKenzie Jones.

The Lady Bison had 11 hits, including two each by Madison Vaughan, Birchfield and Flanagan.

OBU honored its four seniors with a postgame ceremony. Vaughan, Jill Shipman, Jones and Sam Barry are playing their last regular season games this weekend at Lady Bison Park.

The Lady Bison and Ouachita are scheduled to play the final doubleheader at 1 p.m., Saturday, weather permitting.

OBU qualified for the NCCAA's Central Regional Tournament and will be the host, but thus far, no other combatants have been identified.
