SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist took a pair of games from Oklahoma Panhandle State Tuesday, winning 5-4 and 10-6.

Haylee Zimmerman (4-1) picked up the win in both games and
Madison Vaughan swatted two home runs.

OBU broke out on top in the opener on an RBI single by
Cheyenne Demaree in the first and added a
Sam Barry home run for a 2-0 lead after three innings.

Morgan Hughes squeezed home
Jill Shipman for a 3-0 lead in the fourth.
Â
The Aggies closed to within 3-2 in the fifth, but Vaughan homered for a 4-2 lead in the fifth. Hughes tacked on an RBI single in the sixth.

Panhandle State scored twice in the seventh but Zimmerman induced a ground out with two runners in scoring position to end the game.

OBU had nine hits in the contest, including two each by
Shelby Savage and Vaughan.

The Lady Bison jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second game, scoring four in the second with a two-run
Bry Flanagan double, an RBI single by
Miranda Garza and a run-scoring error.
Â
Panhandle State scored four in the third and two in the fourth to mount a 6-4 lead, but avoided further damage when Vaughan caught a runner attempting to steal third.

The Lady Bison retook the lead with a three-run fourth. With two outs,
Katie Reyes walked, stole second and third and scored on a double by Savage. Vaughan followed with a two-run blast for a 7-6 OBU lead.

OPSU got runners at the corners with no outs in the fifth, but Zimmerman struck out one batter and then started a 1-6-3 double play to end the threat.

OBU tacked on three more runs in the fifth with a solo home run by
Bailee Saye, an RBI ground out by Garza and run-producing error.
Â
The Lady Bison finished with nine hits, including two apiece by Vaughan, Saye and Flanagan.

Zimmerman pitched three scoreless innings of relief to get the win. For the day, Zimmerman threw 10 innings, struck out nine and walked none.

Now 6-4, the Lady Bison host No. 2 Southern Arkansas for doubleheaders at 3 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
