ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist split a pair of Great American Conference games Friday at Henderson State, losing the opener 6-0 before bouncing back for a 4-3 win in extra innings.

Bailee Saye (1-1) took the loss in the opener. OBU had four hits, including two by
Shelby Savage, to go with a double by
Jill Shipman and a single by
Katie Reyes.

OBU stranded 10 runners in the game.

In the second game, the Lady Bison scored three in the second inning on an error and RBI singles by
Cheyenne Demaree and Reyes.
Â
HSU tied the game with a run in the second and two in the fifth.

The Reddies had bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh when Shipman fielded a deflected ball at short and threw home in time for the force out before
McKenzie Jones got the last out on a come-backer.

In the top of the eighth,
Bry Flanagan led off with a double and scored after an error on
Madison Vaughan's sacrifice bunt.

Jones (1-0) got the win with three shutout innings of relief and
Haylee Zimmerman picked up her first save with a one-hit eighth inning.

OBU had six hits, including doubles by Savage and Flanagan.

Now 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the GAC, the Lady Bison finish the series with a noon doubleheader in Arkadelphia Saturday.
