Griffith Sets Single-Season Record

Box Score (xml)

ADA, Okla. – Despite nearly four-times as many shots, Oklahoma Baptist settled for a 0-0 (2OT) draw with East Central on Thursday afternoon in Great American Conference action in Ada. The tie leaves the Lady Bison two points shy of clinching the GAC regular season title with two matches to play.

Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Emily Griffith posted six saves in the draw to pick up her seventh clean sheet of the year. That mark represents a new single-season high by a Lady Bison netminder, besting Emma Beck's mark of six in a single campaign which she reached it both in 2014 and 2016.

Ruth King and Hannah White both shot a match-high seven shots, while Emmily Infante and Hannah Evans each had six shots to their credit. Crucially, under half of OBU's 36 shots found their way towards ECU goalkeeper Chloe Hull's goal.

Oklahoma Baptist (13-1-2, 8-0-2 GAC) looks to extend its 12-match unbeaten run, and put the finishing touches on their regular season GAC title campaign, when they make the trip to Alva to face Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.
