SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist split a pair of 9-6 games with Southeastern Oklahoma State, winning the opener before losing the series finale in eight innings.
Down 2-0, the Lady Bison scored four runs in the third inning of the opener on RBI doubles by Madison Vaughan and Corbi Parasich, a squeeze bunt by Miranda Garza and an RBI single by Caitlin Hall.
OBU made it 6-2 in the fourth with Hannah Morris driving in a run after being hit by a pitch, followed by an RBI single by Parasich.
Southeastern made it a one-run game in the fifth, but OBU answered in the home half with a two-run triple by Kasey Jo Burgess and an RBI triple by Morris.
Amanda Peterson (2-6) went the distance for the win, collecting five strikeouts.
OBU had nine hits, including two each by Burgess, Vaughan and Parasich.
Southeastern scored twice in the first inning of the opener, but OBU got one of those runs back in the home half of the inning on an RBI single by Vaughan.
The Lady Bison took a 3-2 lead in the third on a two-run triple by Parasich.
The Savage Storm tied the game in the fourth and took a 4-3 lead in the fifth.
OBU scored three in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run double by Jill Shipman and an RBI double by Harlee Griffis.
Southeastern tied the game in the top of the sixth on a two-out, two-run error and scored three in the top of the eighth to get the win.
McKenzie Jones (3-13) took the loss.
OBU had 13 hits, including two each by Shalee Cordell, Burgess, Parasich and Shipman.
Now 14-28 overall and 11-21 in the Great American Conference, the Lady Bison play at Southern Nazarene Tuesday at 3 p.m.
