SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist finished Senior Day with a doubleheader split with Henderson State Saturday, winning 7-5 before falling 6-2.
All three seniors – Kasey Maddox, Hannah Morris and Shalee Cordell – had hits or RBI in the doubleheader.
After falling behind 2-0 in the opener, the Lady Bison rallied for six runs in the third inning, getting an RBI singles by Kasey Jo Burgess, Corbi Parasich and Caitlin Hall and a sacrifice fly by Maddox. OBU also scored runs on an error and a passed ball.
HSU scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth to narrow the gap to 6-5 but Amanda Peterson slammed the door with three scoreless innings to pick up her second save of the season.
The Lady Bison added the final run in the fifth with an RBI double by Jill Shipman.
Haylee Zimmerman (5-4) got the pitching win.
OBU rapped out 12 hits, including three by Burgess and two apiece by Harlee Griffis and Shipman.
The Lady Bison trailed 6-0 in the second game before getting a triple by Morris and an RBI ground out by Parasich to make it 6-1 in the fourth. Burgess singled in Maddox with the final run of the game in the fifth.
OBU had five hits in the game, including two singles by Cordell.
Bailee Saye took the loss, allowing one earned run over 3.2 innings. Peterson finished the game with 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, fanning five batters and allowing no hits.
OBU finishes the season Tuesday with the Strikeout Cancer Game at 4 p.m. against Rogers State at Lady Bison Park.
