Oklahoma Baptist picked up its first Great American Conference women's soccer win, claiming a 2-1 victory over East Central in Shawnee Saturday night.
Mikayla Lowery scored 3:27 into the game with an assist from Maddie Windham.
Kerregan Edwards made it 2-0 just 37 seconds later as Windham picked up another assist.
That 2-0 score stood through halftime and up until Kaitie Herrin scored in the 59th minute to break up the shutout.
Emma Beck slammed the door from there, fending off a furious attack by the Tigers. Beck had three saves in the final 16 minutes, including a leaping fingertip save of a shot by Megan Lantrip.
Beck finished with eight saves for the match.
OBU launched 12 shots and put six of those on goal, including three by Markella Suka and one apiece by Lowery, Edwards and Windham.
Now 1-3 in the GAC and 3-4 overall, the Lady Bison host Northwestern Oklahoma State Thursday at 6 p.m.
