According to a teammate who nominated him for the OBU Athletic Hall of Fame, the 6-4, 220-pound Allen played 60 minutes of every football game and could run and throw. He also scored 20 points in a 31-30 victory over the University of Tulsa in 1917.
He left OBU in 1917 to join the Army during World War I. He later served as county superintendent of schools in Osage County for more than 30 years.
