A member of three NAIA Tournament teams, including the 1992-93 national runners-up and 1993-94 semifinalists, Robert “Robbie” Powell earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in both 1993 and 1994.
He was a second team All-Conference honoree in the Sooner Athletic Conference in 1993, before earning first team honors the following season and making the NAIA All-Tournament Team.
Powell owns OBU’s career record for three-point shooting percentage (.467), and his 48.9 percent mark from beyond the arc during the 1993 season is also a program best. He is also one of just 22 OBU men’s basketball players to record a 40-point game, scoring 41 against Philander Smith in 1992.
Powell currently lives in Crescent, Okla. and is the owner and president of Pool Envy and was the former CEO of Ordermatic Corporation as well as vice president of national accounts at Everbrite Commercial Signage. He and his wife Tammy have three children: Summer, Alyssa and Ian.
