SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist baseball continued its tradition of working with Dale Elementary School students, tutoring and mentoring them in classroom settings.
Bison baseball players assist with reading and spelling and take time to read to the students, creating a bond.
"They have been respectful and helpful and have really been an asset in the classroom," said fourth grade teacher Anita Morgan, who had

Thomas Shroder working in her room. "Our students have really enjoyed them. Thomas even asked if he could come back more often."
The bond has been so strong that not only has Shroder put in extra time, but baseball alumni Kevin Olmeda still returns to work with the children.
"Having the opportunity to share the love of Christ with these kids and build a genuine relationship with a few of them has been a joy," said Shroder. "I'm hoping even just one of them shows interest in maybe coming to a game or two in the spring so I can continue to spread the same love and joy I've found in the Lord."
